You don’t need to face this alone. Having even one or two people who understand what to do in an emergency or can check in during tough weeks can make a huge difference.
Whether it’s a roommate, RA, friend, or professor, letting someone in on what an attack looks like for you means faster support and less fear when attacks happen.
Building Your Support System:
- Tell your roommate or RA what an attack looks like and how they can help.
- Share your emergency plan and where your kit is stored.
- Connect with a student support group or chronic illness club on campus.
- Check in with family or trusted friends regularly, especially during the adjustment period.
